ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Moat Ad Search is a search engine that focuses entirely on ads instead of other kinds of online content. Similar to traditional search engines, its results are compiled using a web crawler that is specifically tuned to look for ads on the web and index them for later retrieval. Moat also accepts submissions from advertisers and agencies that wish to have their ads included.
ABOUT ANIQ RAHMAN:
Aniq Rahman is the President of Moat, an analytics and intelligence company focused on digital advertising. Moat develops technologies to help brand advertisers evaluate and optimize digital advertising. Prior to Moat, Aniq was CEO of Instinctiv (acquired by SoundCloud), a venture backed technology company which produced desktop and mobile multimedia software. Aniq is based in New York City and studied Computer Science at Cornell University before going on to pursue entrepreneurship.

WHY ARE YOU AN ENTREPRENEUR?
I’ve always naturally gravitated toward building and working with smart and hard working teams. I think that the opportunity to solve big problems via innovative technologies only continues to grow and entrepreneurship provides me an exciting outlet to do so.
WHAT CAN A FELLOW LEARN FROM YOU?
I firmly believe that startups work best when everyone is learning from each other. I’ve been fortunate to learn from some very successful entrepreneurs
and investors via mentorship and working alongside them.
WHAT WILL YOUR FELLOW BE EXPOSED TO?
My role at Moat cuts across the organization in a few ways – I focus on sales, business development, product, hiring, fundraising and basically touch every part of the business.

WHAT MAKES YOUR STARTUP UNIQUE?
Moat is helping shape the future of digital advertising – there are hundreds of billions of dollars spent in advertising each year and more and more of that is happening online. Advertising is critical to keeping content on the internet free and fuels the future of innovation in many technology companies (i.e. Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc are all driven by advertising business models).
